The Commonwealth Home Support Programme provides carers with flexible options, to help support you in maintaining caring relationships with your dependent family members and friends.
This service offers day or overnight respite at a range of community settings including at a Bethanie Social Centre or in the clients own home.
How Respite can help you
Respite can make a significant positive change to your life, and the life of the person you’re caring for. Benefits include:
- Personal care and time for you to look after yourself,
- Social and emotional support for carers,
- Transport assistance to help get your loved one to and from respite,
- Meal preparation, to ensure you and your loved ones are eating well.
How to access the service
You can access Bethanie’s Respite service by calling us on 131 151. You can also ask your doctor, hospital nurses or allied health professionals to refer you to Bethanie’s Respite program.
