Bethanie Aged Care Homes
The WA Government will roll-out the COVID-19 vaccine to our Bethanie Aged Care Homes as part of Phase 1a of the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out strategy advised by the Department of Health. As we are advised of dates we will update the below.
Rolling out the COVID-19 vaccination is a long and complex logistical operation, made even more complex by the vaccine’s storage and handling requirements. Consequently, there have been several scenarios and incidents whereby third parties have delayed vaccination schedules.
These delays are outside of our control, and are often communicated to Bethanie with short notice. Causes of delays include vaccine workforce not being on site to accept the delivery of vaccine or last-minute changes to the date of vaccination.
The schedule below will be updated to reflect these changes.
Last updated: 1.15pm Friday 4 June 2021
In Phase 1b of the WA Government’s COVID-19 vaccine roll-out strategy, all elderly adults over the age of 70 and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the age of 55 will be eligible to receive the vaccine. This would mean Phase 1b is applicable to those residents, tenants, clients and customers at all Bethanie Retirement Villages, Bethanie Social Housing, Bethanie Living Well Centres and Bethanie Home Care within the age brackets mentioned.
Specific information as yet for Phase 1b isn't available yet. We suggest that you begin to consider whether you will be having this vaccination or choosing for your family member to have the vaccination if that is the decision-making situation.
For our Aged Care Home residents, once you have decided if you intend to receive the vaccination, we request you do the following:
