Bethanie Living Well Centres – come and join the community.
Bethanie’s vibrant Living Well Centres provide a safe space for senior Western Australian’s to become involved with community events, social activities and therapy well-being services.
Our aim is simple. We want to ensure that our customers feel a sense of connection and purpose during each visit.
The Bethanie community is very diverse. We bring together people over the age of 55 from all cultures, backgrounds and abilities, including those with health issues and dementia. Everyone is welcome!
Core to the Living Well Centres’ purpose is to ensure senior Australians never feel alone in their own community. Our goal is to reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness and support our customers in meaningful connections with like-minded people, and the community.
They also function as a respite for carers who may be looking after seniors in the home. Carers perform such an important role in the lives of our customers and we aim to provide them with as much support and advice as we possibly can.
As an added support for carers, Bethanie can offer transport to and from the Centre from the local area, as well as meals and refreshments.
The programs that the Bethanie team run are fun, flexible and safe. They are all designed to cater to people with varying abilities and capabilities and encourage community participation and contribution. Some of these activities include bowling, painting or relaxing walks.
Our Living Well Centre’s are run by Bethanie staff and volunteers. They foster a friendly, welcoming and supportive culture. They have all been trained in line with Bethanie’s quality care and safety standards.
Bethanie has eight Living Well Centre locations across Perth metro, and regional Western Australia. To find your closest Living Well Centre, please visit our website: https://www.bethanie.com.au/at-home/living-well-centres/locations.

"I love coming to the Living Well Centre. It is the highlight of my week, and I look forward to Wednesdays. I was very lonely at home by myself, but now I have made many new friends. We go on lovely picnics and the staff are caring and amazing.
It is also good for me as we exercise physically and mentally, and we have fun doing this. We laugh a lot and enjoy great morning teas and lunches. As I said, it is the best day of my week."

"I love working at Bethanie. I enjoy every day and being with the customers is so rewarding. They are ready and waiting when we arrive to pick them up in the Bethanie bus. Being able to add something special to their day is very important. They all love coming, and to watch them go from being lonely to socialising and making friends with others is one of the experiences I appreciate.
To hear them say “thank you so very much you have made my day” is fantastic. Just the smile on their face and to know that we are valued and appreciated makes work a pleasure. I thank Bethanie for the opportunity to be part of this experience."
