Staff Focus - Spring 2019
Making a difference in Cambodia
Twenty-one Bethanie staff and family members ranging from ages 13 to 71 made a real difference to the lives of the homeless in Cambodia in July by assisting with building houses with RAW Impact, an organisation that gives a voice to those who have none and creates powerful change in Cambodian villages.
Therapists making exercise look fun
Bethanie Therapy Assistants undertook Physio Chi training in June in preparation for its reintroduction into our aged care homes. Physio Chi is a form of Tai Chi and provides opportunities for movement with both eastern and western philosophies and assists residents to maintain good balance and flexibility. Residents can participate in classes which can be performed standing or sitting.
Congratulations to the Bethanie Nurse Leaders Team who won the ‘Team Award’ for the development and delivery of the Bethanie Nurse Leader Programme at the LASA Excellence in Age Services Awards inaugural WA State Conference in May. The multi-departmental team will now progress to the national awards to be presented at LASA’s National Congress in October.
