Purple Week

Publish date: 27 February 2024

Bethanie celebrated Purple Week from 19 - 25 February by hosting nearly 50 individual events across our organisation, with a focus on recognising and celebrating the spiritual commitment to each individual in our community.

In a Bethanie distinction, our Chaplains focus on the whole person, providing quality spiritual care across four domains, being the Arts , Nature , Relationships and Something Bigger .

The annual ‘week’ was the busiest in history, with a wide range of activities designed to capture interest from our residents and clients across the domains.  There were plenty of high teas and cake decorating sessions.  There were musical performances, bingo games and craft activities.  And there were many wise words shared by our wonderful Chaplains and teams, who work tirelessly to connect in a meaningful way with each resident and client.

“Purple Week is a time to acknowledge our Christian heritage, reinforcing the practical way we live out our Mission and highlighting the involvement of Chaplaincy throughout Bethanie,” said Roulé Jones, CEO (Interim).

“The whole Bethanie team has a role to play in this care, and by acknowledging the individuals’ needs, we can offer holistic patient-led services which enhance overall wellbeing.”

Thanks to our Chaplains and the teams across sites who created wonderful events and meaningful activities for our whole community.  Our residents and clients are lucky to have you.
