How can I access Home Care services?
Depending on your care needs, you can access Home Care services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or a Home Care Package (HCP) . The Australian Government subsidises these initiatives, but you may still need to make financial contributions to cover your care. Whether or not you need to make additional contributions will depend on the support you require and your financial situation.
Once your CHSP or HSP is approved, you can use it to access Home Care services from your preferred provider.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
The Commonwealth Home Support Program assists those with low care needs . It supports people who need help completing a few tasks in and around the home and empowers them to continue living at home safely and independently.
Home Care Package (HCP)
In contrast, Home Care Packages cater to more complex care needs . They offer a higher level of flexibility and choice and are designed to help people continue to live at home for as long as it remains safe to do so.
Under a HCP, you can access four levels of support, ranging from basic assistance to frequent high-level support. Each level of support gives you access to a different daily government subsidy for your care.
