It’s not just the younger generations using technology to play games, meet people and find love online.
Bethanie Illawong’s Victoria (70) and local resident George (68) met online via Christian Café, which was the perfect platform to connect two faith-based individuals looking for companionship.
“I never gave up on the idea of marriage again,” said Victoria, “but at this stage of life we have had the opportunity to gain wisdom, which gives us insight and discernment.”
“I knew the person I wanted to meet.”
Having both been alone for a couple of years, their romance blossomed slowly “with honest and transparent communication”.
Victoria said their proposal happened under the stars on a weekend away in Quinninup and they are going back for a mini-honeymoon after their wedding in January.
