Frequently asked questions

Q. What can I bring with me?
For comfortable living, each room comes equipped with a bed, bedside chair and cabinets for you to store your clothing and belongings in. To help you personalise your room and make you feel comfortable, you are welcome to bring in your own personal items. For example photos, ornaments and blankets. Larger items are welcome as long as they do not present a safety issue. This can be discussed prior to arriving.
Q. Are there waitlists?
Each home has a waitlist and residents are admitted based on a variety of factors including their needs and the capabilities of the home at that time.
Q. What do I need to enter?
Depending on your individual circumstances, you may be eligible for government funding. To find out what level of funding you are eligible for, you will need to complete an assessment through the Government’s Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). Bethanie can help you arrange a free referral or you can register with My Aged Care www.MyAgedCare.gov.au We also require a Bethanie Application Form be completed. This provides us with the information we need to progress your entry.
Q. What is a RAD / DAP?
Depending on your individual circumstances, you may need to make an Accommodation payment. The RAD and the DAP are the two ways you can choose to pay this. The Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is a lump sum payment which is fully refundable when the room is vacated. The Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) is a daily payment which is not refundable. You may also pay a combination of RAD and DAP. For example, part lump sum payment and part daily payment.
Q. What are the care costs?
How much you pay depends on your individual circumstances. In most cases, the majority of the cost is covered by the Commonwealth Government. You may need to pay the following depending on your individual circumstances: • A Basic Daily Care Fee • An Accommodation Payment • A Means Tested Care Fee – annual and lifetime caps apply • Extra Service or Additional Service Fees (where applicable)
