Get sewing for a good cause
Do you want to support the fight against COVID-19? Do you want to make new friends? Do you want to have fun? Then our sewing volunteer group might just be for you.
The Bethanie Community team are on a mission to make 1,200 face coverings, but they need your help.
They are looking for sewing enthusiasts to volunteer their time and make face masks for our residents living in the community, villages and aged care homes.
All you need is to be armed with basic sewing skills and an electronic sewing machine. The Bethanie team will provide the fabric and written instructions, so you can stitch the masks in your own spare time.
This fantastic group of volunteers will distribute the masks to the communities most vulnerable across the South West region of Western Australia, in order to ensure there is an ample supply of face coverings should the community need it.
Leading the team of volunteers is Carmel Nieuwenhuyz who is a Team Administrator from Bethanie Community South West. She says the project is the perfect opportunity for anyone with spare time looking to contribute back into the community in a practical way.
The team are looking for volunteers anywhere across the South West and Perth metropolitan area, so grab a friend, grab your needle and thread, and join today.
