CEO Welcome - January 2021
Welcome to the first Harvest newsletter for 2021. I trust you all had a festive Christmas and New Year break with your loved ones. I for one definitely feel refreshed and ready for 2021.
Bethanie saw many triumphs last year, including acquiring Berrington’s residential homes, tackling COVID-19 with a newly formed Outbreak Response Team and much more. Although we faced some challenging moments, we are more prepared than ever to make this year a huge success.
As the first month of 2021 ends, it is important to reflect on the strange year that was 2020. I would like to thank all our residents, customers and families for being understanding and patient while we’ve navigated the COVID-19 pandemic together. Although borders have eased, the battle with COVID-19 isn’t over yet, which is why we must continue to be vigilant and “do the 3” – wash your hands, keep your distance and download the COVIDSafe app.
My focus for the first part of this year will be to continue to focus our energies on ensuring we provide the best service possible to all of you. We will also be continuing to grow with the construction of our newest aged care home in Dalyellup. Finally, we wait with anticipation the outcome of the Royal Commissions findings and how the Government will provide the much-needed support to improve the Australian aged care system.
I would like to also take this opportunity to thank those of you who participated in last year’s customer survey. Your feedback showed that you were more satisfied with the services Bethanie has been providing to you compared to the previous year – despite the COVID-19 related changes. I was very pleased to see this result.
Please be assured that your care and wellbeing will always remain Bethanie’s highest priority. If at any time you have concerns, please speak to a staff member or call our friendly team on 131 151.
It is our mission to demonstrate the love of God by positively changing the way Australians experience ageing – every customer, every family, every community, every day. We have been fortunate enough to demonstrate the Love of God through a variety of community events, including Christmas Carols and Have a Go Day. You can read more in this edition of Harvest.
Please stay cool and safe this summer season and I look forward to updating you again in March.
Happy reading, and here’s to what I hope will be a happy and successful 2021 for all.
