Ideas for celebrating Mother’s Day
The sentiment behind Mother’s Day is more meaningful than ever this year. This annual event will be even more cherished than before, highlighting and allowing us to demonstrate our appreciation of the relationship we have with our mothers.
With some creativity and preparation, you can give your mum the Mother's Day she needs and deserves during this pandemic. Here are some suggestions:
Virtually Connect
Enjoy a cup of tea or cocktail together online via ZOOM, Skype, Messenger and get the rest of the family on the call too. You can even get your games out and play some favourites online such as Bingo, Trivia or Pictionary.
Dinner at Home
Arrange a special Mother’s Day lunch or dinner as a takeaway and have it delivered to her home. Most of Perth’s top chefs are now creating gourmet take away at very affordable prices. For some ideas, visit Experience Perth.
Mother’s Movie Night In
There's no better way to show mum how much she means to you, than by spending quality time together. While we can't head to the cinema, you can enjoy films across a variety of digital platforms, including Apple TV app/ iTunes, Foxtel Store, Google Play, Netflix, Stan and Telstra TV Box Office.
Enjoy a picnic
Restrictions have now been lifted in Western Australia (allowing outdoor gatherings for up to 10 people) so, if you find it appropriate and the weather is on your side, it is a great time to pack your mum’s favourite foods and head off somewhere special for a Mother’s Day picnic. We have some amazing areas in our back yard that are ideal for this special occasion and make a great place for an ambient walk too. Try Matilda Bay, Bells Rapids, John Forest National Park or Point Walter. Remember to practice social distancing when you are on your picnic.
Traditional Flowers
The popular choice to go with a gift is always flowers. There are many online florists ready to service your request with contactless delivery, or why not simply pick some flowers from your garden.
Locally Grown
There are a large number of special gifts you can buy online from local producers ensuring we support our own.
Something Different
