Entry level care
Commonwealth Home Support Program
If you only need help with a few tasks, then the Commonwealth Home Support Programme may be appropriate for you. It is aimed at providing a low level of support to give that little bit of extra help people may need to fully live independently and safely in their home.
Eligibility for this program is based on your support needs and age. Speak to our Aged Care Navigation Specialist team to find out if this is right for you.

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) provides basic support for people who are mostly independent but need help with everyday tasks like cleaning, meals, or transport.
Support at Home is for people who need more regular care. It offers a coordinated care plan and flexible funding that can change as needs evolve. Bethanie provides services under both programs, ensuring clients receive the right level of care over time.
Bethanie offers both private (self-funded) and government-funded services. Private care gives you the flexibility to choose services that suit your needs, with a simple fee-for-service approach.
Government-funded packages help cover the cost of care and are available across four funding levels. Depending on your location, you may also be eligible for support through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).
Home Care is a government-subsidised service. Based on your assessment, you may be eligible for either CHSP or Support at Home.
CHSP services cost $13 per hour, or $22 per day to attend social centres (excluding lunch).
Support at Home offers more comprehensive care. You may need to contribute to the cost depending on your circumstances and the services you choose.
